How to add text to a video

  1. Drop the video. A frame is shown so you can see where the text will sit.
  2. Write and style the text. Multiple lines are fine. Pick a position, size, colour and font, and the time range it should be visible.
  3. Render and download. The frames are re-encoded with the text drawn on them.

Why use myownvid for this

Nothing is uploaded

The file is read straight from your disk and processed by your browser. There is no server, so there is nothing to leak, store or delete.

Faster than any upload

Your device’s hardware encoder does the work. No queue, no upload bar, no waiting for a download afterwards.

No watermark, no account

Every tool is free with no sign-up, no export cap, no resolution limit and no logo stamped on your video.

Presets that match real limits

Discord, WhatsApp, email, Reels: pick the destination and the settings are already right.

Questions people ask

Can I add several pieces of text?

Run the tool once per text. After downloading, choose “Continue with another tool” to add the next one without leaving the page.

Can the text show only for a few seconds?

Yes. Set the start and end time. Leave them at the defaults to keep the text on for the whole video.

Does the text look sharp?

It is rendered at the video’s full resolution with an outline for readability, then encoded together with the picture.
