Questions people ask

What is the difference between boosting and normalising?

Boosting applies a fixed gain you choose. Normalising measures the track first and applies exactly the gain needed to hit a target: the loudest peak for peak mode, or an average loudness for the loud mode.

Will boosting distort the sound?

Only if the loudest parts exceed the maximum level, where they are clipped. Use normalisation to boost as far as possible without clipping.

Can I make several files the same loudness?

Yes. Drop them all with loudness normalisation selected and each is brought to the same target.
