Change the speed of a video
Make a clip play faster or slower. The audio is stretched to match without turning into a chipmunk, unless you want that effect.

How to change video speed
- Drop the video. Any MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV. The current length is shown so you can see what a change does.
- Pick a speed. Presets from 0.25× to 8×, or type any value. Choose whether audio keeps its pitch.
- Apply and download. Frames are re-timed and re-encoded on your device. The new length is shown before you start.

Questions people ask
Does the audio pitch change?
Not by default. The audio is time-stretched so speech and music keep their pitch at the new speed. Turn “Keep pitch” off for the classic tape effect where faster means higher.
Will slow motion be smooth?
Slowing down repeats the existing frames for longer, so 30 fps footage at 0.5× plays like 15 fps. Footage shot at 60 fps or more gives the smoothest slow motion. Frames are not interpolated.
What happens to the frame rate when speeding up?
Extra frames are dropped so the result stays at or below 60 fps. Motion looks the same as a real time-lapse.
Can I change the speed of only part of a video?
Trim the part first, change its speed, then merge it back with the merge tool. All three steps run on your device.
