Is Discord’s limit still 8 MB?
No. Discord moved to 25 MB, then 10 MB, and raised the free limit to 20 MB in August 2026. Use the Discord page for the current limit. This page is for services that still cap uploads at 8 MB.
How long can the video be?
About 45 seconds at 720p or two to three minutes at 480p. Longer clips get visibly soft; trim first.
Why 8 MB and not 8.0 exactly?
The tool targets a little under the number you type so container overhead and encoder variance do not push the file over.
